On 5th December, 2014, VIN celebrated International Volunteers day by organizing different activities at Jitpurphedi VDC. On this day, there were around 100 participants; they were international volunteers, community people, school teachers, children’s club representatives, Health post staff, women’s group representative, School students, Police and VIN’s staff.
VIN planned One-day program at Jitpurphedi to celebrate International Volunteers Day. The program was started with a short information on International Volunteers day and followed it with Local area clean up program. On this division, the participants cleaned the area of tinpiple. The liters were collected from the ground and gathered in sacks. The program continued with a small talk program on Garbage Management.
On the second half of the program, the day prolonged with an hour hike to Paanchmane from Tinpiple. The purpose for this hike is to observe the ECD class and paint one of them. Only volunteers and VIN’s staff participated in this activity. There, they spent almost two and half hours, played with the kids and painted one class room. By the end of the day, they hiked back to Tinpiple from Paanchmane.
It was a special day as volunteers and community people gathered together to celebrated this day. VIN thanks all the participants for their interest and support to make this program a success and VIN would also take this opportunity to thank all our past volunteers for their help and support.
