Level: Manager
Reports to: Executive Director
Location: This role will be based in Kathmandu, with frequent field visits to rural parts of Nepal
Salary and Contract: Rs.40,000 to 60,000 (negotiable)
Type of Contract: Initially two year (extendable at VIN’s discretion)

Job Overview: The position plays a vital role in fundraising activities for the organization. Working with the Executive Director and the Program Manager to bring in substantial operating and capital funding in order to fulfill the mission of the organization.
Primary responsibilities of the role includes the preparation of proposals and grant applications, and also researching, identifying, developing and responding to public and private grant opportunities for the holistic community empowerment.

Responsibilities and duties:

  • Grant & Funding Strategy:
    • Research and identify public and private donor agencies for funding existing and new programs.
    • Manage the end to end process required to prepare, submit, and manage grants.
    • Develop organizational relation with the funding agencies home and abroad
    • Organize necessary monitoring and follow up visits for the funders and donors
  • Reporting & Tracking:
    • Work with the Program Managers & other officers to gather information necessary to report to the funders and sponsors.
    • Comply with all grant reporting as required by donors.
    • Provide regular written updates to the donors.
    • Document / update current funding records in digital database system and also hard copies, including grant tracking and reporting
  • Branding & Communications:
    • Develop necessary promotional / IEC materials for the organizational branding, visibility etc.
    • Update project news and events in regular basis to update VIN’s audience / stakeholders / funders.
    • Help update website contents to represent exactly what’s being done.

Education:
Master’s Degree or higher studies in Arts, Development studies or relevant field

Experience:

  • Proven track record on grant writing / fundraising. (Minimum 5 years)
  • Documentation & Report writing

Skills:

  • Advanced level MS Office Package (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
  • Fluent in English and Nepali

Level: Manager (7 Direct Reports)
Reports to: Executive Director
Location: The role will be based on Kathmandu, but the applicant should be willing to travel locally and abroad from time to time.
Salary and Contract: Rs.40,000 to 55,000 (negotiable)
Type of Contract: Initially two year (extendable at VIN’s discretion)

Job Overview: The Organizational Development Manager role works directly with the Executive Director, and is responsible for performing a number of high level administrative and coordination duties. This is a highly visible management level assistant position, with 7 direct reports, which aims to enhance the Executive Director, and also the team’s, effectiveness by providing information management and coordination support. This role must have the ability to work well with all levels of internal management staff, external organisations and NGOs. Sensitivity to confidential information might be required.

Responsibilities and duties:

  • Team Management & Coordination:
    • Overview and coordination of team’s plans and projects.
    • Tracking of plans, deliverables and risks.
    • Reporting of achievements and challenges
    • Read reports prepared by staff, and other organizations, and summarize them for the Executive Director.
    • Help develop a long term strategic plan and sustainable ways of working for the organisation.
    • Document & organize all documentation maintained and used by the organization.
    • Manage and administer the office’s day to day activities and workplace as necessary.
  • Support to Executive Director:
    • Calendar management and scheduling (appointments, interviews, meeting, travel and events)
    • Act on behalf of the Executive Director (by phone, email & letters), with other organisations, staff and volunteers
    • Attend meetings with the Executive Director, Note taking, Presentations preparation.
    • Identify and contact like-minded organizations for potential new business opportunities and collaborations.
  • Branding & Communications:
    • Update VIN’s website and social media contents based on current achievements and future plans.
    • Write / edit daily news.
    • Prepare promotional materials and documentation for external purposes and community support (ie leaflet, videos, etc.)

MBA or Master’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Social Science (or equivalent)

  • Programme / Project management experience
  • Proven track record of providing day to day support / assistance to executive / senior level members in organisations

  • Fluent in English and Nepali

Level: Officer
Reports to: Volunteer Manager
Location: The role will be based on Kathmandu, but the applicant should be willing to travel locally from time to time.
Intern Allowance: Rs.15.000 to 20.000 per month
Type of Contract: Initially 6 months as Intern, with the possibility of becoming a permanent member of the staff depending on performance. Needs a driving licence along with vehicle.
Deadline for Application: Thursday 15th February 2018

Job Overview: The Volunteer Coordinator Intern role at VIN is responsible for all the coordination and logistic elements to ensure an effective settling in of volunteers in the country, host families and project placements.

Responsibilities and duties:

  • Before Placement:
    • Collect volunteers personal details (emergency contacts, contact numbers, email)
    • Prepare Volunteers Cards
    • Identify, profile and confirm host family/organisation/ Monastery with Volunteer Manager for placement
    • Prepare and make sure hosts families are informed and ready to host volunteers
    • Prepare, update data and documents in server
  • During Placement:
    • Welcome new joiners at the airport / office
    • Arrange pick ups ( hotel – office, office – host family, host family – hotel)
    • Arrange sightseeing, community visits and hospital appointments (if needed)
    • Leading excursions for volunteers (if needed)
    • Inform volunteers about review and follow up meetings. Conduct the meetings and keep records / notes.
    • Record volunteers arrival / departure dates to host families and also travel / trekking. Work with the accountant to make sure this information is up to date.
    • Record expenses of Volunteer Program
  • End of Placement:
    • Receive all the documents / reports from the volunteers
    • Make sure an Exit / Feedback survey is sent to volunteers
    • Arrange Exit / Feedback Interview

Job Overview:

  • The Webmaster / WordPress Developer role at VIN will act as the nucleus of the organization by consolidating and disseminating information for internal, external and potential new members of the VIN community.
  • The successful candidate should be creative, resourceful and multifaceted, when combining the soft skills of a Public Relations / Social Media practitioner, with the technical skills of a Webmaster / Online Editor.
  • This role will ensure our website, and online channels, are best in class in regards to accessibility and navigation, usability and user experience, quality assurance and maintenance, as well as reporting for improved decision making.
  • To achieve those objectives, he/she must have a continuous learner mindset. Keeping always up to date with the latest trends on web technologies, social media and online tools.

Responsibilities and duties:

  • General:
    • Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of VIN’s web/online presence by identifying and acting on opportunities for information and process improvement.
    • Managing, authoring and executing content through effective channels to improve communications with external/ internal VIN staff and volunteers.
    • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure company information is current and relevant.
  • Website:
    • Development, installation, configuration and management of VIN’s websites
    • Management of DNS, Maintenance of MySQL database (Backup, replace existing database) using Cpanel.
    • Website Optimization (SEO).
    • Maintain, configure and troubleshoot servers
    • Liaise with stakeholders and relevant target audiences to develop web based tactical projects, to further VIN programs.
  • Social & Online Media:
    • Develop and maintain VIN’s Social and Online channels
    • Promote VIN’s work through social media and websites through SEO. Leverage of sponsorship and support for VIN’s ongoing and new programs
    • Drive online solutions to maintain and develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders that will increase the effectiveness of the VIN community
  • Reporting:
    • Monitor and analyze online performance (e.g traffic, conversions)
    • Gather relevant data and analytics for reporting and improved decision making
  • Workplace IT:
    • Management of domain specific email using Office 365
    • Configuration, management and troubleshooting of various office related tasks such as configuration of Outlook
    • Printers and Wifi, MS Office package support
