Teaching English at the Rinchen Palri Monastery was an indescribable joy. Not only did I find enthusiastic students, but I also found kind, generous, and caring friends who welcomed me warmly. I’m grateful to have formed a friendship with the principal in which he taught me Tibetan Philosophy and I helped him improve his English. While I came as a teacher for the monks, I found that I learned so much from living with them - not only about Buddhist living but about life itself. The monastery is a very peaceful place and my experience there was so positive that I found it difficult to leave.
