Volunteers Initiative Nepal mobilized 70 volunteers in the month of July. This is one of the biggest achievements in VIN’s history. In total, VIN conducted 5 Inductions for the new volunteers from all around the world. Basically VIN have three volunteering program choices i.e. Regular volunteering, workcamp volunteering and Group volunteering and in July VIN received volunteers in all of these three programs.
When we categories the volunteers, there was a group received from Korea of 22 volunteers to work on construction of walls and fences in Jitpur Higher Secondary School, three workcamp groups from different nation to work for Stop Open Defecation Campaign and Jitpurphedi Children Development program and 23 regular volunteers for different programs like Teaching English in Buddhist monastery, Construction and Manual Work, Child Club Facilitation, Women Trafficking Prevention, Cultural Immersion and Teaching and Community Health and Medical Care.
VIN conducted five inductions in July to train all the volunteers and give them some cultural advice and health tips. There were many follow-ups in the community to make sure that the volunteers are fine and happy with the work given. The follow-ups also help us to know that the works assigned are efficient and important for the growth. VIN also conducted Volunteers Monthly meeting on 18th of July, Friday to know the experiences, Challenges, Impact and Achievements of volunteers. To our surprise, there were 27 Regular volunteers present and most of their experience were rewarding. 26 volunteers completed their volunteering with VIN on July. With an exit interview and a ceremony, VIN bid goodbye to 26 international volunteers.
This month has been impressive and ambitious for VIN’s experience. Looking back at this month, most of the volunteers were very happy experiencing the lives and culture of Nepal with VIN. They were very positive about VIN and its projects. VIN has always been supportive and ready to help the volunteers in need. We are also grateful to receive all the feedbacks and comments on the project and highly appreciate the work and support of volunteers. Looking at the achievements, Volunteers impact on the community has be great so far. Our team wants to thank the Partner organizations and Sending organization for their help and support.
