VIN staffs, along with international volunteers collected information from each ward related to families, health and hygiene. Though the information is yet to be analyzed, the primary analysis revealed that majority of the women are uneducated, they have less role in decision making especially in financial issues. Moreover for improving their daily life they are interested to get some training on health & sanitation, women rights, income generation skills and majority of them were interested for sewing and cutting trainings. The observation also showed fact that majority of people do not have toilets in their homes, are rearing animals very near to living place.
With a target to establish a micro finance in near future, a group has been formed in each wards of taluwa. The group members received orientation on the structure of group, role & responsibility of each member, benefits being a member of group, benefits of working in a group etc.
We request you to participate in our women’s empowerment program as a volunteer or as an intern. You could get involved in various projects such as Income Generation and Marketing, Micro credit co operative, Education, Rights and Life skills and Women Trafficking Prevention.
