11th July, 2014: Twenty more toilets are constructed in support of VIN in Taluwa. VIN has been working in Taluwa VDC to declare VDC as Open Defecation Free area since 2012.
By the month of June 2014, twenty more toilets is completed in poor and needy families. These families were selected by the coordination committee formed by VIN on the basis of low income status. Two families from each nine wards were selected and two more families were selected from ward 8 and ward 5 as these wards are populated than others.
The families were provided with all the materials needed for construction that they need to buy from the market. Other locally available materials were managed by themselves. Community people are happy to receive support for construction and are very eager to announce their VDC as Open Defecation Free area.
Construction of toilet in the community is under VINs “Construction and Manual work program“. we receive various international volunteer from around the globe. These motivated volunteers has been helping VIN by supporting in the construction work. VIN has been providng materials to the poor family who cannot affort to construct toilet due to poverty.
