VIN has been supporting different type of activities for agriculture development in Jitpurphedi community. There is scope of high value vegetable farming here, but the is no proper irrigation This problem could be solved by making small scale irrigation pond at household level.The pond is made on land and water is collected in it during the rainy season and waste water from household can be collected and can be used for irrigation propose during dry season. Such a plastic pond has multiple benefits viz: it is simple and low cost technique. It also help to improve the hygiene of household environment.
VIN has provided training on mini plastic pond for women farmer in places like Tinpiple, Thumki, Kisandol and Panchmane height during this year. People were educated on concept, benefits and technique of construction of mini plastic pond. Altogether 25 women participated in training and four plastic pond were constructed by involved international volunteers Katarina Bagri from USA, Melisande Bergeon and Flo both from France and family members. This technology is suitable for this community. There was lot of demand for mini plastic pond measuring 2 m * 2 m * 2 m (meters) by Women farmers. This project will be continued in 2016 as well.
