VIN has conducted health camp at Ganesh Himal Orphanage. Altogether 22 orphan children were benefited from the camp. Public health and medical care team has conducted a day camp in orphanage. It was aimed to ensure good health of children. Major objectives of health camps were to check general health of the children, to screen the oral hygiene of the children, de worming the children and to aware children on hygiene and sanitation.
Doctor from VIN has checked all children. There were 22 children of 6-11 age groups. Among all 12 were female. Regarding health problems 4 were suffered from acute conjunctivitis, 3 had skin infections and other 15 had no health problems. Most of the Children were clean. They were found brushing teeth regularly.
It was found that four children (Grace, Mukti, Sandeep and Bishal) were suffered from acute conjunctivitis. Tenjing and Pemba, newly admitted children were suffered from skin infection. Also they were lean and thin with underweight.
Children with health problems were treated according to their problems. They were prescribed antibiotic to put on eyes and to apply on skin. It was managed medicines for them. Also children with eye infection were told not to live in close contact with other. They were informed it mat transmit from contact and sharing. They have to wash hands with soap and water. All of them were advised to follow hygiene, regular teeth brush and hand washing.
