It was conducted a day basic first aid training to local youths from Okharpauwa, Nuwakot district. Volunteers Initiative Nepal (VIN) has organized this training for local youths who was selected to work in Post disaster relief project as a volunteer. VIN’s medical team had facilitated the training.
The aim of the training was to train local youths on Cardio pulmonary resuscitation and management of simple trauma. It was focused on basic health information, introduction about first aid, its importance, basic anatomy and physiology of human body, CPR, cut wound, bleeding and fractures. It was demonstrated practically. Youths were encouraged to practice it on their friends.
There were 35 local youths in training. It was consider as an effective training which was supported from the opinion from one of the participant as “I got the opportunity to learn about first aid. I don’t know about CPR before. I learn the simple skills to manage the cut wound which is very important for me.I hope I can help people and friends whenever they need.” Keshav Nepali
Public health team has concluded the training as a successful. It has supported local youths to learn new skills.
