Although it has been more than a year since the devastating earthquake of 25th April, 2015, the houses are yet to be built, destroyed infrastructures are yet to be maintained. Back in the community where Volunteers Initiative Nepal works, there are a lot of things awaiting to rise again. Many local and international volunteers from different countries have been supporting the post disaster response and relief project conducted by VIN. Under this project, the volunteers are mostly into demolishing the damaged house and structures and also rebuilding them.
VIN initiated its disaster relief and response project right after the massive earthquake. VIN has been successful in the project and it is still going on. Recently, the volunteers worked to construct earthquake resistance toilet in Kavresthali School. Toilet something that is a must for maintaining health and hygiene. Along with the houses, a lot of toilets got destroyed during the earthquake and VIN is constructing toilets along with the damaged house and infrastructures. The volunteers have worked with passion and dedication for the construction. With the construction of the toilet in the school, both the students and teachers are well benefited. It has helped to maintain the hygiene of all the individuals associated with the school.
