9th May, 2014: VINs project “Emergency Relief and Disaster Management” is designed to aware the rural community people about various natural disasters in Nepal and emergency relief and disaster management skill to cope with several forms of calamities. Our six Danish volunteers under this project have been involved in various awareness campaigns in Jitpurphedi. They recently took disaster management class in Phedi, Ramghat, Pachmane, Dhitalgaun and Khadwalkot. The numbers of participants were altogether 58.
The participants were informed about natural disasters such as Earthquake, Landslide and fire. They were explained about the preventive measures and also caution to avoid disaster risk. The Danish interns were assisted by local volunteers Rejina Thapa Magar and Asmita Tamang. The overall disaster management class was very fruitful. This class will be organized in other places of Jitpurphedi VDC with expectation of more participants.
