This week VIN has successfully organised the cultural Sharing Program in the community. The program was held on Friday in the Nagrajun Secondary School of Thulagaun, Jitpur community. The main goal of the program is to share cultural experiences between Taiwan Youth and Nepali Youth. The Taiwanese group was involved in the WASH project and Teaching and Painting School Project from 22nd Jan 2016.The young Taiwanese volunteers were sent by our partner organisation VYA, Taiwan. There were 20 volunteers in the group.
The program was very interesting and facilitated a lot of learning for both groups. The Taiwanese group gave a presentation on history and the geography of Taiwan, with pictures and information. They also taught the Nepali students’ games. On the other hand the Nepalese youth gave a presentation and speech on the Nepali education system and its gradual development within the community and within Nepal. They also performed a cultural dance. As part of the program group interaction, and question and answer sessions were held between the Nepali and Taiwanese groups. There were very interesting questions raised by participants from both countries. Most of the questions were targeted towards understanding the education systems of Taiwan and Nepal, and government support for education.
In conclusion, the program was very interesting and meaningful for all participants, as well as the audience of local community members.
