Volunteers Initiative Nepal organizes short term Workcamp Projects every month which run for 12 – 13 days. For these projects, VIN organizes one-day induction for the volunteers that covers basic health tips, Nepali language and cultural classes and information about the project and then place them at the host family near their working areas.
For one such project, Sports for Children Workcamp Project, four international volunteers from Spain and France signed up for it. The project was conducted from 8th – 19th July at Mahadevsthan Basic School, Dadagaun. Volunteers organized different games for primary children to help develop their physical, mental, emotional and social well-being. They taught various games, especially in which different types of balls can be used. Volunteers enjoyed teaching different sports to young children. Children too were happy to get such energetic sports teachers.
VIN has been actively participating towards the welfare of the community and children by mobilizing international and national volunteers for over a decade. Its aim is to empower the poor and marginalized communities by introducing various developmental projects that are aligned with the UN’s sustainable development goals.
