A step closer, and more to go!
Volunteers Initiative Nepal (VIN) is proud to announce the 15th anniversary of positively changing lives and empowering marginalized communities in Nepal through equitable, inclusive and holistic development programs. On the 7th of September, 2005 VIN legally started operating as a not-for-profit, non-governmental volunteer organization with the vision of “Peaceful, Prosperous and Equitable society throughout Nepal.”
Volunteers Initiative Nepal was brought to existence by Mr. Bhupendra Ghimire (Bhupi), the founder president on 8th November, 2013 when he travelled to Okhaldhunga alongside 17 volunteers with the motive of empowering Okhaldhunga. Without electricity, proper roadway and at a constant risk of compromised sanitation and health, VIN was there to shape the future of people who had not been touched by development. Okhaldhunda at around 400 miles from Kathmandu, was and still is one of the most deprived and rural district in Nepal.
Now, VIN has been actively operating three areas of Nepal namely Tarakeshwar Municipality in Kathmandu, Okhaldhunga – (Taluwa, Thulachhap and Bhadaure) and Okharpouwa, Kakani Rural Municipality in Nuwakot. An astonishing number of over 300K people have directly benefitted from various projects organized by VIN under six program areas. Over $3 Million invested and 6K local and international volunteers have generously contributed their time, energy, skills and resources to make a difference in the lives of unfortunate and marginalized communities. The followings are the major achievements of VIN as of 2020:

Lastly we would like to take this auspicious opportunity to extend our gratitude to all our well-wishers in every corner of the world. A sincere thank you to our Board of Direct without whom VIN would not have been able to exist. This achievement and success is dedicated to the entire VIN team, compassionate volunteers, sponsors, generous donors, and all our partner organizations. A very huge thank you to each of us who have contributed to this cause in any possible ways. It is your support and compassion that has brought us to this beautiful milestone of 15 impactful years and more to come.
