Liquid Soap is a cleaning agent used to remove dirt, including dust, stains, bad smells, and clutter on surfaces. The purposes of using cleaning agents include health, beauty, removing offensive odor, and avoiding the spread of dirt and contaminants to oneself and others. Liquid Soap is essential to personal and public health. Through their ability to loosen and remove soil from a surface, they contribute to good personal hygiene; reduce the presence of germs that cause infectious diseases; extend the useful life of clothes, tableware, linens, surfaces and furnishings; and make our homes and workplaces more pleasant. The training’s objectives were to introduce of soap components and its ratio in liquid soap, to give guideline of industry registration process, to give knowledge of price determination of production
Activities (Components of soap)
There are numerous ingredients used in the preparation of liquid soap which may be beneficial from one aspect but more harmful from different point of views. Chemicals used are caustic soda, acid solari, urea, oil, color, G-salt and so on.These components have their specific function to derive the properties of soap. For example, acid solari produces lather when liquid soap is applied with water. Urea helps to remove dirt from the surface while salt makes the soft. There were introduced theory and practical class.
Price fixation
In course of price fixation process, at first the total cost of production is calculated. The cost of all the ingredients used is summed up and the labour cost is also considered. At the same time the market price is also considered. Based on these factors the price is determined for soap with optimum profit.
Registration process
At first, those who are willing to run cottage industries should apply with application form in Department of Industry with detail information. The owner should get pan no for validation. Logo is made which includes the name of product, address, date of manufacture and the date of expiry.
Achievement
Hence the training was successfully conducted and the women group was satisfied as it would help them upgrade their income status. They became aware of price fixation process considering the total cost of production. The women were happy as their income had progressed and there were 8 women. This was one of the VIN’s women Empowerment project being run at Kavresthali.
