25th June, 2014: VIN’s public health team with physiotherapist from France had conducted basic physiotherapy training to community people from Jitpur. Mathilde, a health volunteer from France was the trainer and a local volunteer Namita has assisted her. It was conducted throughout the June for three weeks. There were altogether 250 people participants in the training. The training was focused on introduction about physiotherapy, important, techniques and useful tips. The team did survey about the problem of the participants. It was found that most of the participants, women were suffered from backache and joints pain. They were taught about safety to reduce back pain and some preventive measures for back pain. During survey it was found that back pain was due to hard work and load carrying on back. Also women have to work bending forward.
It was found that 250 people were benefited from the training. They were trained on physiotherapy. It has helped to think about alternative treatment for pain. Participants were found happy to get involved into the training. It was new for them but found interested. It was largely appeared to be useful for the people in the community. It should be continued and training should include all the people.
Math also recommended having a part time physiotherapist in the community clinic. As there is a big opportunity for work, there is a need of the physiotherapist.
Physiotherapy is one of the interesting opportunities for the skilled person. Also there are other opportunities to get involved into the VIN public health program and contribute to improve the health status of community people. Are you interested to join us?
