Volunteers Initiative Nepal has received 6 volunteers for different projects on 1st November 2015.These volunteers are from USA, France, Portugal, Belgium and Spain. They are for Early Childhood Education program, Health and Medical Care project, Buddhist Monastery Program and Post Disaster Relief WASH Project. These volunteers are all females but of different ages from 18 to 68.
Volunteers are picked up from airport to the Hotel premium on 30th and 31st of October and dropped off to the VIN office from Hotel premium on 1st of November by MR. Akkal. Volunteers Initiative Nepal designed three days induction program to the regular long term volunteers which support them on their project and their daily lives in their project sites. Mr. Bhupi, Executive Director of the VIN shared the VIN’s detail introduction and past achievement, present work and future program on the first day.VIN has organized cultural tips, Health and hygiene and Nepali language class and project detail orientation during the induction program. Nepali cultural tips, Health and Hygiene tips and basic Nepali language classes are run by the volunteers’ coordination teams.
And the following day, the Program officers will categories the volunteers into their chosen project and deliver project details and schedules to the respective volunteers. Mr. Dinesh, the volunteer manager will allocate the placement information to the volunteers on the same day. And the volunteers will be placed on the third day of the induction after completing all the sessions.
The objective of the three days induction is to ensure all the volunteers clear about their project, and making comfortable before starting their project. VIN provides continued support to all the volunteers during their entire project and their stay in Nepal.
