Training on Baseline Survey to Local Youths

VIN provided training on baseline survey to local youths from Okharpauwa. There were 10 regular youths for training. The training was for three days. It was started from 24^th Feb and ended on 26^th Feb 2015.
 
VIN has a plan to extend its project area to needy communities. It has done a preliminary survey of three different communities and select Okharpauwa as a highly potential community for development projects. Okharpauwa VDC office found lacking reliable data and statistics about community. VIN decided to do a baseline survey before starting projects. This training workshop on baseline survey was designed to train local volunteers (data enumerators) from Okharpauwa. Major objective of the Training/workshop was to train local volunteers about PRA, RRA and PLA and different research tools, to train them about data collection tools and techniques, to provide training on communication and facilitation skills and to motivate them in volunteerism.
 
It is found that 10 youths from Okharpauwa were trained on baseline survey, data collection tools PRA, focus groups and interview techniques. The three days training was useful to train locals about communication and facilitation skills. The training organized by VIN is found effective to train local youths about baseline survey and data collection tools. It is also proved by the views expressed by one of the participants as a feedback on closing day. “I learn skill about baseline survey. The terminology were new for me but I learnt the skills.
