The ECHAV Volunteer Project, implemented from 1st September to 29th October 2025 in Okhaldhunga under Volunteers Initiative Nepal’s Children’s Development Program, successfully promoted English learning, creativity, and cultural exchange among rural schoolchildren. Sixteen volunteers (12 international and 4 Nepali) conducted interactive English sessions across 12 schools, integrating games, songs, and storytelling to make learning fun and engaging. Despite challenges posed by national holidays and travel delays, all planned school visits were completed, benefiting around 200 students and boosting their confidence and classroom participation.
Complementing these sessions, two community-based learning camps were organized at the Naratika Community Learning Center, bringing together children, youth, and women for six days of art, sports, storytelling, and intercultural activities. The camps saw strong community involvement, with volunteers arranging refreshments and organizing creative competitions to encourage teamwork and participation. The program strengthened VIN’s collaboration with local schools and communities, leaving a meaningful impact on children’s learning experiences and fostering lasting intercultural connections.
