Shishir  Adhikari

Who is Shishir ?

“Who lives together at home, Shishir ?”

“My grandpa, grandma, uncle, 2 aunts, my twin brother, and 3 little sisters.”

“Oh, 10 in total!? A big family, isn’t it?”

“And dad and mom are working abroad. 12 family members.”

Shishir  Adhikari, a bright and determined 12-year-old boy, resides in Thulachhap of Siddhicharan Municipality Ward No. 2, Okhaldhunga, Nepal.  He is currently studying in the 7th grade at Raktamala Basic School in Jordhara. Shishir  is a dedicated student with a real passion for learning. He has never failed in the exams. At the same time, he is active in sport activity. He plays football with a plastic bottle with his friends.

Despite his potential, however, his family faces significant financial challenges. These  challenges put his education at risk.

Family & Challenges

Shishir ’s father is working as a photographer in Dobai, and mother is working in a factory in India.  They are supporting the livelihood of all 12 family members, which makes it difficult for them to meet even basic needs. Their limited finances mean they struggle to afford essentials like school fees, books, uniforms, and healthcare for Shishir .

Here are some of the key challenges they face:

  • Balancing Needs: The family must carefully manage limited resources to cover food, housing, clothing, education, and healthcare for all seven members.
  • Supporting Education: Ensuring all children in the family have access to education can be a significant financial strain.

The Need for Sponsorship

Sponsorship is absolutely essential for Shishir .  It will provide him with:

  • Essential School Supplies: This includes books, stationery, and a school uniform, ensuring he has the tools he needs to learn.
  • Tuition Support: Help with school fees and other learning materials.
  • Opportunities Beyond the Classroom: Support to participate in extracurricular activities, which are important for his overall development.
  • Access to Healthcare: Ensuring he can get medical attention when he needs it.
  • Nutritional Support: Helping him stay healthy so he can focus on his studies.

The Impact of Sponsorship

Sponsoring Shishir  will have a truly transformative effect on his life, his family, and his       community.  It will:

  • Keep him in School: Providing the resources he needs to continue his education and reach his academic goals.
  • Ease the Family’s Burden: Reducing the financial strain on his family, allowing them to use their limited resources more effectively.
  • Empower a Future Leader: Helping Shishir  build his confidence, develop valuable skills, and become a positive force in his community.
  • Inspire Others: Showing the community the power of education and encouraging the children to pursue their studies.

Sponsorship will give him the stability and the opportunities he needs to achieve his full potential.
