Rajdeep Katwal

Introduction

Rajdeep Katwal, a bright and determined 11-year-old boy, resides in Dadagaun, Thulachhap of Siddhicharan Municipality Ward No. 2, Okhaldhunga, Nepal.  He’s currently in the 6th grade at Raktamala Basic School in Jordhara. Rajdeep is a dedicated student with a real passion for learning. He gets the highest score in the exam. “He was smart since he was little”, his grandmother told us.

Despite his talent and motivation to learn, his family faces significant financial challenges.  These challenges put his education at risk.

Family & Challenges

Rajdeep Katwal with family

Rajdeep’s family has 5 members: his grandmother, father, mother, and smaller brother. His father Debu Katwal went to Dobai last March in order to earn money. His grandmother and mother do housework such as making corns and millet in their field. “Of course, they don’t end their meet for daily meals. We have to buy rice and vegetables at stores”, says Rajdeep’s grandmother. “We don’t have access to job in a remote village like here. It is not easy to send two sons to school.”  Their limited finances mean they struggle to afford essentials like school fees, books, uniforms, and healthcare for Rajdeep.

The Need for Sponsorship

Sponsorship is absolutely essential for Rajdeep.  It will provide him with:

  • School Supplies: Essential materials such as books, stationery, and a school uniform.
  • Financial Aid: Help with school fees and other educational expenses.
  • Healthcare Access: Ensuring he can access medical care when needed.

The Impact of Sponsorship

Sponsoring Rajdeep will have a truly transformative effect on his life, his family, and his community.  It will:

  • Keep Him in School: Providing the resources he needs to continue his education and reach his academic goals.
  • Ease the Family’s Burden: Reducing the financial strain on his family, allowing them to use their limited resources more effectively.
  • Empower a Future Leader: Helping Rajdeep build his confidence, develop valuable skills, and become a positive force in his community.
  • Inspire Others: Showing the community the power of education and encouraging the children to pursue their studies.
