Kristina Diyali

Introduction

Kristina Diyali, a bright and determined 13-year-old girl, resides in Nishankhe, Thulachhap, [Municipality], Okhaldhunga, Nepal. She is a 6th-grade student at Raktamala Basic School, Jordhara. Kristina is a dedicated student with a passion for dance and sports. Her family’s income, while limited, presents challenges in ensuring Kristina has all the resources she needs to thrive and pursue her interests. Sponsorship offers a vital lifeline, providing the resources Kristina needs to continue her schooling.

Personal Information

  • Name: Kristina Diyali
  • Age: 13
  • Gender: Female
  • Grade: 6
  • School: Raktamala Basic School, Jordhara
  • Community: Nishankhe, Thulachhap, Okhaldhunga

Kristina is an active participant in school life. She excels in her studies and enjoys various extracurricular activities, especially dance and sports.

Family & Challenges

Kristina lives with her mother Geeta Bishowkarma, and her father. The family has three members. They sell accessories in a small store in a village. “We sometimes earn 20,000-25,000 NRP, but it is only ‘sometimes’. It is not stable”, Geeta explained. Even 20,000 is still under the average income in Nepal. “The problem is, as you understand we have almost no access to job in a remote village like here. Our family does not have our field or livestock, either. All we have is difficulty.” Limited income supports a family of three, making it challenging to cover all essential expenses and support Kristina’s extracurricular activities.

Here are some of the key challenges they face:

  • Balancing Needs: The family needs to carefully balance expenses like food, housing, clothing, education, and healthcare for all three family members.
  • Supporting Extracurriculars: While Kristina thrives in dance and sports, these activities often come with costs that can be difficult for families to manage.

  • Support for Extracurricular Activities: Encouragement and resources to participate in dance, sports, and other activities that contribute to her overall development.
  • Access to Healthcare: Ensuring she can get medical attention when she needs it.

The Impact of Sponsorship

Sponsoring Kristina will have a truly transformative effect on her life, her family, and her community. It will:

  • Keep her in School: Providing the resources she needs to continue her education.
  • Support her Development: Helping Kristina participate in activities that contribute to her overall well-being and future opportunities.
  • Ease the Family’s Burden: Reducing the financial strain on her family, allowing them to use their resources more effectively.
  • Empower a Future Leader: Helping Kristina build her confidence, develop valuable skills, and become a positive role model in her community.
