Jharana Rana Magar

Who is Jharana?

Jharana Rana Magar is an 11-year-old girl residing in Bhadaure, Okhaldhunga, Nepal. She attends Raktamala Basic School in Jordhara, where she is a 5th-grade student. She enjoys dancing and sports. She also helps housework well. Jharana is a dedicated student with aspirations of becoming a doctor.

“Why do you want to become a doctor?”

“Because even if someone in our family gets sick, we don’t have to pay money. I will be able to give him/her treatment by myself.”

Even the 11-year-old girl thinks about the financial situation of her family. In fact, her family’s extremely limited income makes it very difficult for them to provide her with the resources she needs for her education.

Family & Challenges

Jharana’s family has 5 members. They have their own lands and fields to do agriculture, but “even though we work for a whole year, it does not create food even for half a year”, according to Jharana’s grandfather.  Her father, Dhan Bahadur Rana Magar, started working in Malaysia to earn more money, but it is still difficult for him to support all the family members. “He cannot send us money stably. We ask him to send us money when we really need it”. Their low income makes it challenging for the family to meet even their most basic needs, including food, shelter, and particularly Jharana’s education.

The family faces significant hardships:

  • Managing Expenses: Balancing their income to cover food, housing, clothing, healthcare, and education for all family members requires careful planning.
  • Educational Costs: Ensuring access to quality education for Jharana and potentially other children in the family can be a financial strain.

The Need for Sponsorship

Sponsorship is absolutely essential for Jharana. It will provide her with:

  • Essential School Supplies: This includes books, stationery, and a school uniform.
  • Educational Support: Help with school fees and other learning materials.
  • Access to Healthcare: Ensuring she can receive medical care when needed.

The Impact of Sponsorship

Sponsoring Jharana will have a transformative impact on her life. It will:

  • Enable her to stay in school and continue learning.
  • Give her the chance to pursue her dream of becoming a teacher.
  • Offer her hope for a better future.

Conclusion

Jharana Rana Magar is a bright and determined young girl who deserves the opportunity to reach her full potential. Your support can make a profound difference in her life.
