Volunteers Initiative Nepal (ViN) seeks a dynamic and talented Fundraiser Officer to join our mission of empowering marginalized communities in Nepal. We align our programs with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to create a lasting impact on women’s empowerment, child development, youth Empowerment, Public health, environmental conservation, and disaster relief.

Hands-On Experience in Fundraising

As a Fundraiser Officer, you’ll gain experience in diverse fundraising methods, including grant writing, CSR partnerships, and event management. You’ll also visit project sites to collect stories, meet beneficiaries, and see the impact of your work firsthand.

Role Overview

The Fundraiser Officer will be vital in securing funding through fundraiser events, grants, corporate partnerships, and donor relations. You will develop and implement a year-round fundraising strategy, organize creative fundraising events, and work closely with program teams to highlight ViN’s community-based impact.

This office-based position will include periodic field visits to gather data, interact with beneficiaries, and strengthen fundraising efforts.

Key Details

Contract Duration:

Initial one-year contract, renewable based on performance.

Salary Range:

NPR 45,000 – NPR 75,000 per month, based on qualifications and experience.

Target Age Group:

Young professionals aged 27-35 are strongly encouraged to apply.

Core Responsibilities

Develop and Implement Fundraising Strategies

  • Create a comprehensive fundraising plan aligned with ViN’s goals.
  • Identify potential funding sources, including local, regional, and international grants.

Build Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Partnerships

  • Research and approach Nepali corporate houses, banks, and industries for CSR funding.
  • Pitch ViN’s projects to align with companies’ CSR objectives.

Write and Present Compelling Proposals

  • Write grant proposals and donor reports highlighting ViN’s programs’ impact.
  • Develop engaging impact stories to inspire support.

Plan and Execute Creative Fundraising Events

  • Organize charity dinners, online campaigns, cultural programs, and community events.
  • Utilize social media platforms and digital fundraising tools to maximize outreach.

Foster Donor and Stakeholder Relationships

  • Build strong connections with donors, sponsors, and stakeholders.
  • Ensure consistent communication to maintain and grow these relationships.

  • Master’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Development Studies, Business Administration, Social Work, or Public Relations.
  • Proven experience in fundraising, CSR partnerships, or donor relations.
  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills to confidently pitch projects.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills for grant proposals and reports.
  • Familiarity with Nepal’s CSR policies and global fundraising practices.

Had the most amazing 5 weeks teaching English at a Tibetan Bhuddist monastery- an experience I will encourage everyone to do at least once in their lives! Truly amazing and VIN was so helpful, accommodating and organised in creating this experience. Very transparent with spending, wide variety of programs to choose from each benefitting Nepal in different ways. Well run and deserves all the credit. Highly recommend 10/10

VIN was an incredible experience. VIN provided a well-structured program with meaningful community engagement. It focuses on community based projects involving local volunteers backed-up by international volunteers in Nepal.It has been deploying its volunteers in teaching, teachers training,environment, health and sanitation, children development,women empowerment support, youth empowerment and disaster risk reduction. Volunteering with VIN was an incredibly experience! I spent an amazing 2 weeks working in 4 schools teaching about disasters and preparedness while enhancing the childrens english. Everyone I met was so lovely and helpful enciting me into their culture. While in Okhaldhunga I got to see multiple festivals including Gai Jatra and Teej, which was unforgettable and really made my time in Nepal. I'm so glad VIN allowed me to see the beautiful sights and culture if Nepal and I wish to come back soon!
