Marin Vigot, a 23-year-old volunteer from France, has joined Volunteers Initiative Nepal (VIN) to support the Animal Care Program. Driven by a lifelong passion for animals, environmental protection, and education, Marin is eager to contribute to meaningful community animal welfare projects in Nepal. In his own words, “I always wanted to do whatever I can to help living beings, more specifically in the protection of the environment and animals, and the education area.”
Marin’s placement focuses on hands-on animal care volunteering, including feeding, habitat maintenance, health monitoring, and assisting with awareness campaigns that promote responsible animal care and conservation. He is committed to learning from experienced staff and fellow volunteers while adapting to the challenges of working in a community-based environment.
In addition to direct animal care, Marin participates in activities that support community education on animal welfare. He helps organize sessions that teach local residents and fellow volunteers about hygiene, nutrition, and conservation practices. By combining practical skills with education, Marin contributes to sustainable initiatives that empower both animals and the communities they live in.
Fluent in French and with intermediate skills in English and Italian, Marin communicates effectively across cultures, allowing him to build strong connections with local staff, residents, and international volunteers. His interpersonal skills, curiosity, and enthusiasm enhance the impact of the program, ensuring a positive experience for both animals and people.
Volunteering with VIN provides Marin an opportunity for personal and professional growth. He looks forward to gaining practical experience in animal care, understanding local conservation challenges, and developing cross-cultural skills. By contributing to hands-on projects and community education, he strengthens his knowledge of global volunteer work and the importance of protecting living beings.
Marin’s experience highlights the value of compassion, teamwork, and dedication in volunteer programs. His journey in Nepal demonstrates how young volunteers can make a real difference in animal welfare while supporting community wellbeing. His story encourages future volunteers to explore volunteering with animals in Nepal, showing that even small efforts can create lasting impact.
