VIN’s House Reconstruction Programs in Kavresthali are Making Progress with Hands of International Volunteers

Published on:

Four houses are expected to complete this summer, providing the marginalized families better shelters for upcoming tough hot and rainy season. These families had been met with economic problems against plans for new houses after the great earthquake has damaged their homes.

VIN has been funding and mobilizing international volunteers to make housing dreams come true, with house reconstruction programs by cutting costs on labor. And Volunteers Initiative Nepal(VIN) works with local government, local political leaders, key social mobilizer from the communities, women and youth group to ensure that the families receive financial support to build, repair or maintain safe, adequate homes, based upon their level of financial need. Families typically contribute their own labor, savings and/or building materials.
Volunteers initiative Nepal also provides construction material support sending international and local volunteers to build alongside families and communities.
