Today the health teaching project at primary school begins! Health lessons will be given to children of grades ECD to class 5. It will be in five schools of Kavresthali from 26 September till 9 October. Research by Dr. Angela Chang shows that malnutrition, underweight, oral and hand hygiene problems and complications are common concerns at these schools. The project was planned based on these findings. The main goal of the project is to maintain a higher level of personal hygiene. Poor personal hygiene increases the risk of getting sick and results in a lack of confidence. We encourage the children and teachers to take care of themselves by teaching them about the subjects such as healthy and unhealthy food, germs, teeth brushing and hand washing. Interactive classes with images, songs and games were included to make the project more engaging. The children learn through play and at the same time have some physical exercises.
In the coming 3 weeks, enthusiastic volunteers from VIN will visit Kavrestheli school, Milan Dharmasthali, Kalidevi higher secondary school and Sanskar school to teach exciting health lessons!
