VIN conducted a meeting with the Kavresthali Coordination Committee of ward 4, 5, and 6 on 3rd June, 2016. VIN is soon to implement its all the programs- women empowerment, children development, youth empowerment, environment conservation and community health in the Kavresthali. To implement these programs effectively, VIN saw the need to conduct the baseline survey and thus the meeting was conducted. VIN interacted with coordination committee of Kavresthali in order to know their issues.
The major agenda of the meeting was focused on issues of environment, children and youth. After the massive earthquake the Kavresthali has been declared as open defecation free area and now VIN will be working for the children and youth in the initial phase of its program. In the same context, Kaversthali already has children clubs and VIN will be conducting programs to enhance these clubs. Similarly, the youths in the Kavresthali are more involved in the sports activities. So, the Coordination Committee has highlighted on the need of conducting reconstruction programs for the destructed infrastructures because of the massive earthquake back in April 2015. and involving the local youth in it. They also focused on the need of training these youths before they are involved in reconstruction.
The Kaversthali Higher Secondary School also raised the issue about the condition of infrastructure of the school. The school does not have the proper learning materials and the materials they have is not in better condition. The infrastructures need to be built properly. The school has problem starting from toilets to classrooms.
VIN is conducting baseline survey to implement suitable programs for the Kavesthali community. The issues discussed in the meeting will be taken into consideration by VIN to bring the programs accordingly.
