Volunteers initiative Nepal welcomed 28 volunteers in the month of April and May. Among them 4 volunteers were national, 6 were group volunteers, 6 were workcamp and 12 were regular volunteers from different nation.
All the international volunteers were escorted from airport to Hotel Premium in Thamel on their first day in Nepal. All of the volunteers were given 3 days induction. The inductions were scheduled with different sessions like VIN’s overview as organization, Cultural tips, Program orientation, Nepali language, health tips and placement information. The induction also includes a half day sightseeing in two religious and historical places of Kathmandu.
With a mix interest of volunteers, VIN placed 4 volunteers in Buddhist Monastery for Teaching English, 3 volunteers for Community Health program, 6 for Emergency Risk and Disaster Management, 6 for School infrastructure development (painting and Decoration of School), 2 for Women Empowerment program and rest for Early Childhood Education, Management and Administration and environment and Agro-forestry.
