VIN medical team (doctor and VIN volunteers) worked in Kavresthali health post throughout May. The team under public health and medical care project has provided medical services to 136 patients including all age groups. Among them 116 were of more than 5 years age group and 20 were of less than 5 years. Out of 116, 70 were female. Medical doctor provided medical consultation and health volunteers contributed in taking vitals, to keep record, dressing wound, and maintaining sterilization. All the services provided were free of cost. The team worked for 2 days, Tuesday and Thursday at health post.

As mentioned in table 1, 20 children less than 5 years are suffered from 7 types of health problems with missing information about a child. Health problems were acute respiratory tract infection (4), diarrhea (3), fever (7), Eye injury (2), cut injury (1), loss of appetite (1) and OMA (1). Similarly, 116 people with more than 5 years of age are suffered from 9 problems with missing information about 3 people. Health problems were pulmonary (19), cardiovascular (4), Gastro intestinal (18), skin (21), urogenital (3), musculoskeletal (10), ENT (8), Oral (7), Eye (11) and other (11).
It is found that 136 patients from Kavresthali and neighboring villages were benefited from VIN medical care support project. People got medical facilities at their home side otherwise they had to spend a lot of money to visit doctor or they won’t go for medical seek until it get worst.
VIN has been supporting medical care services to rural communities of Nepal since 2009. VIN medical team works at health post and conduct health camps in school and villages. It is aimed to improve the quality of health services providing by the health post.
