Volunteers Initiative Nepal has successfully conducted volunteers meeting on 23rd September, 2016. The meeting was conducted by VIN in order to bring all the international volunteers of VIN on one platform and discuss and address their challenges, issues and problems accordingly during their volunteering period. A total of 18 volunteers were present in the meeting.
The meeting was conducted in four sessions. The first session was introduction session where the volunteers introduced themselves with an object that best described them. In the second session, VIN’s Executive Director Mr. Bhupendra Ghimire briefed them about the ongoing and upcoming projects. The third session was to describe about the VIN awards- VIN is planning to introduce awards to those volunteers who come up with best article and to those volunteers who click the best photograph during their volunteering period. Similarly, in the fourth session, volunteers shared their experience about their project. For this, the volunteers were divided into groups according to their projects such as Women Empowerment, Public Health and Medical Care, Construction and Research projects. Each of the groups expressed their positive and negative points and some solutions of the problems they have been facing.
The meeting started at 2:30 pm and concluded at 5:30 pm followed by a dinner program. All the meeting attendants along with a VIN staff joined the dinner program. One of the volunteers Pippa Hardingham had birthday so, VIN celebrated her birthday in the dinner with a cake.
