Joseph, the volunteer coordinator from Philippines has been volunteering with Volunteers Initiative Nepal since 15th March 2016.He is volunteering as a volunteer coordinator and helping the volunteer management team for management of the volunteering program effectively. On 12th April, He has organised the lunch for the orphans of the Ganesh Himal Child Care non Profit Organisation which is the associated with VIN since two years. Ganesh Himal Childcare non profit organisation is situated in Balaju, Kathmandu. There are twenty one orphans in the orphanage home who are taken from the rural and earthquake affected districts. They take care of the children and send them to school.
On that day, Joseph bought and taken all the ingredients in the VIN office and some other volunteers Alice, Junu and VIN staff Akkal, Rekha helped him in the cooking and preparing the delicious lunch for the kids. They cooked two hours in the VIN office, the traditional Filipino chicken sandwich with Papaya Juice and Mayonnaise. After that he bought thirty Real Juices and collected the pre ordered Mo Mo from the shop. Finally the pre planned lunch was ready and the Joseph with team proceeded to the Orphanage Home at 1pm which is 15 minutes walk from VIN office. When the Team reached the Orphanage home, the staffs and kids welcomed with very warm and excited smile. And the lunch was served to the Orphans and the staff by the VIN volunteers. The VIN volunteers Dana and Venus also helped the team on serving and feeding the kids. They all had lunch together; The Kids looked very happy and thankful to the volunteers of the VIN. They enjoyed the food very much and said the food was very nice and delicious and thanked the team a lot. After that the Kids started watching the Nepali Movie. The team returned back to the VIN office with full of satisfaction for bringing the smile on the cute little faces.VIN would also like to thank a lot to our coordinator for his generosity and kindness. Any small contribution makes a difference and can able to bring smiles and hopes on the faces.
