1st May, 2014: Volunteers Initiative Nepal (VIN) in partnership with (PISL) Partners in Sustainable Learning recently constructed 20 toilets in Okhaldhunga, VIN’s community site. Bhupendra Ghimire, VINs Executive Director, Diann Grimm, founder of Partners in Sustainable Learning PISL and her friend Julia from United States visited Okhaldhunga to launch various projects such as early childhood Education Program, Toilet Construction, women’s Empowerment project.
Twenty toilets have been constructed in Okhaldhunga and further 20 families have been selected for toilet construction. VIN aims to declare Okhaldhunga as Open Defecation free area. Most of the populations of Okhaldhunga do not have Toilet facilities. They lack information on hygiene and sanitation and often become victims of harmful diseases. We have been able to construct 180 toilets in Jitpurphedi . with this successful projects we have started toilet construction project in Okhaldhunga.
