VIN welcomed 12 volunteers from Canada on 3rd of May for the construction work and education project. They will be working at Saraswati School at Jitpurphedi for a month from 6th May to 30th May. They attended the induction program for 2 days i.e. 4th and 5th May.
On the first day, the induction program started with the introduction of the volunteers and the staffs of VIN with each other. The second session was about the introduction of VIN which included the mission, vision and objectives of the organization along with some other basic details about Nepal. Cultural tips and placement information were given to the volunteers in the third session. During this session, the volunteers were provided information about the common courtesies, attires and other do’s and dont’s which they are required to know while they are working in their projects.
On the next day, the volunteers were given the orientation about their program which was about the construction and education project. The final session was about the Nepali language classes. This class is provided to the volunteers so as to know the basic Nepali words for them while working and staying in the community. The volunteers were also provided with the lunch boxes and a t-shirt of VIN. Finally around 3:30 pm, they were taken to their host family.
