Volunteer Trekking

Program Fees Trekking and Volunteering,VIN

At VIN we understand that our volunteers, in the limited time they have, want to experience the vast wealth that Nepal has to offer.  We have worked hard with our partners in Kathmandu to provide a volunteer trekking service that can be combined with a short period of volunteering to form an unforgettable experience.

Little landlocked Nepal is home to eight of the ten highest of the world’s mountains.  Since the country opened her doors to in 1949, it has been the ultimate destination for mountaineers and trekkers from all over the world.  Not only this, but the varied landscape and rich culture and wildlife continue to fascinate and entrance those who visit.

VIN’s overriding objective is the empowerment of marginalised communities, with a focus on women and children.  Since 2007 we have been working with Jitpurphedi Village Development Committee (VDC), 12km outside Kathmandu, and have begun foundation work with Okhaldhunga district in the Everest region. We have developed our Adventure and Volunteer Programs to help fund our community work.  All the profit from these opportunities is used to support our efforts in marginalised communities.

As a volunteer/intern, you will be placed with a Nepali host family, where you will live while you help within the community to teach English in schools, orphanages or to women and youth.  Your home-stay will allow you to become immersed in Nepali culture and language and will provide a solid foundation for your travels. During this time you will have the opportunity to explore Kathmandu.  Once, your placement is over, you will embark on one of Nepal’s most prestigious and popular treks, either to Annapurna Base Camp or Everest Base Camp.

By volunteer trekking with VIN you can be certain that you are helping to invest in Nepal and you will receive a trekking experience that you can rely on.
